Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and device storage or access mechanisms are present on www.proteos.it, why they are used and how to manage them. The current configuration uses only necessary technical mechanisms: there are no analytics, advertising, pixels, social plugins, newsletters, maps or embedded videos.
1. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files or identifiers that a site may store on or read from a user’s device. The same rules may apply to non-cookie mechanisms such as local storage, pixels, fingerprinting or other tracking techniques. In this policy, “cookies” is used broadly when describing any mechanism that accesses the device.
The site is mainly static and does not create user accounts or sessions. It does not use profiling cookies or tools to follow browsing activity for advertising or behavioural analysis.
2. Current inventory
The table lists the mechanisms provided by the currently published code and integrations. “Up to” is the limit applied by the site; a browser may remove local data earlier. The coding criterion distinguishes first-party local storage from the third-party technical service by explicitly stating its name, provider, purpose and category.
| Name / tool | Provider | Purpose and category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| proteos-privacy-notice-v1 (local storage) | Proteos Engineering, first party | Remembers that the notice about the site’s technical mechanisms was closed. Technical / necessary for the notice; not a profiling cookie. | Maximum 6 months from the last setting |
| Cloudflare Turnstile (script and technical widget signals) | Cloudflare, Inc. · challenges.cloudflare.com | Anti-bot protection for the Contact form only. Strictly necessary and security-related. IP address, User-Agent, TLS fingerprint and sitekey/origin data may be processed under the Turnstile notice; the site does not use them for advertising or analytics. | Depends on the Turnstile service and configuration; the site does not configure pre-clearance or request cf_clearance |
3. Technical mechanisms and consent
Mechanisms that are strictly necessary to provide a requested function, maintain security or remember a technical choice do not require prior consent under the applicable rules, but they must be described transparently. The local-storage entry above exists only to avoid showing the notice on every page and expires after six months.
Turnstile is loaded on the Contact page because it protects form submissions. The current integration does not configure pre-clearance and the site code does not request the cf_clearance cookie; technical signals required by the service may still be processed under the provider documentation. Cloudflare processes signals to distinguish human from automated traffic; Proteos does not use them to profile visitors. For provider details, see the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
4. Third-party services and transfers
The site does not embed third-party analytics or marketing tools and does not use Cloudflare as the site CDN, WAF, DNS proxy or firewall. The only Cloudflare service activated in the current configuration is Turnstile on the Contact page. Form delivery is also handled server-side by Resend; this transfer concerns form data and does not install browser cookies on behalf of Resend.
Cloudflare and Resend may process data outside the European Economic Area under their notices and applicable transfer tools. For data categories, legal bases and safeguards, see the Privacy Policy.
5. Notice and preference management
When you open the site, a short notice may appear explaining that only technical cookies are used. The “Accept” or “Decline” button closes it and stores the selected preference locally for up to six months; the choice does not activate additional tools and is not consent to profiling cookies because none are present in the current configuration.
You can reopen the notice and clear the preference at any time using the button below. If optional categories are introduced in the future, this area must become a genuine preference centre with granular, equally easy acceptance, refusal and withdrawal.
6. Browser controls
You can delete cookies and local data through browser settings, block storage or receive a warning before storage occurs. Blocking technical mechanisms may make some functions unavailable, especially anti-spam protection for the Contact form or correct display of the notice.
Instructions depend on the browser and device. Consult the relevant help section for your browser; deleting site data will clear the notice preference.
7. Updates to this Cookie Policy
This policy is updated when code, suppliers, cookies, similar tools or purposes change. The date at the top identifies the latest review. Before any optional tracker is introduced, preventive blocking, consent and the inventory must be implemented and verified.
For information about personal data processed through the site, see the Privacy Policy or contact info@proteos-engineering.com.
8. References
This policy takes account of Article 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003, the GDPR and the Italian Data Protection Authority’s Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools of 10 June 2021. For the current text and FAQs, see the Italian Data Protection Authority.
This clears the local preference and shows the notice again. It does not change other browser data.
